These came on the market in 1830 and have been manufactured industrially since 1830. The window envelopes exist since the year 1908.
 
More elegant stationery can additionally be watermarked. Various quality levels of watermarks can be differentiated. Of highest quality is the hand made paper with or without individual watermarks
